Marelvi S. van Reesema
A passionate educator, Marelvi van Reesema is the proud director and co-founder of Avila Child Care Center. Marelvi earned a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education at the Universidad Metropolitana of Caracas. When given the opportunity to study abroad after graduation, Marelvi found a new home in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She continued her studies at Eastern Michigan University, completing a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education while concentrating in Curriculum Design.
After graduation, Marelvi returned to Venezuela to work as a professor at the Universidad Simon Rodriguez in Caracas, Venezuela. For four years she taught courses on the Foundations of Early Childhood Education and Curriculum Design. Frequent visits to the United States motivated Marelvi to return to the States to raise a family in Chelsea, Michigan with her husband.
Marelvi is the proud mom of two sons.
